Well known County Antrim sportsman, Ciaran McGinn, has died suddenly. He was 26.
Mr. McGinn died at his home in Ballycastle.
He was a local hero after becoming the first person in 40 years to swim between his home town and Rathlin Island in 2007, an effort which helped raise funds for the R.N.L.I.
Mr. McGinn, who worked as a fitness instructor, was a successful triathlete.
Hockey was another sport at which he excelled. He was a former captain of Portrush Hockey Club.
The death has stunned the North Antrim community with many people paying tribute to a very popular young man.
His Funeral will take place on Sunday.
