Body of Ulster solder is brought back to UK

The body of Lieutenant Neal Turkington, the Portadown man who was killed in Afghanistan last week, has been brought back to United Kingdom.

Lieutenant Turkington, who was 26, had been serving in The Royal Gurkha Rifles in Helmand province when he was shot by a renegade Afghan soldier who also killed Major James Bowman and Corporal Arjun Purja Pun.

The bodies of the three comrades were flown back to RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire.

Family members attended the private ceremony at the base.

Details of the funeral arrangements will be released at a later date.
