Campaign launched to end fuel poverty deaths

Older people in Northern Ireland are being urged to speak up to help prevent deaths caused by fuel poverty.

The campaign has been launched by the local office of the charity, National Energy Action, which wants people to tell their stories in a bid to force the government to take action.

The NEA has questioned whether the existing strategy to help the fuel poor in Northern Ireland is working.

According to the NEA, older households in the Province are predisposed to fuel poverty.

The charity now hopes to compile case studies as part of the campaign to force the government to end fuel poverty.

The NEA’s local office is online or can be contacted on 028 9023 9909 or by email.
