Police in Cyprus have found the corpse of the island’s former president which was stolen last year.
The body of Tassos Papadopoulos was taken from his grave in December.
The remains were discovered in a grave in a cemetery in Nicosia following a tip-off to the authorities.
The identity and the motivation of the body snatchers remains unclear, but authorities had said they were working on the assumption that they would seek a ransom. However, relatives of the former president said the family had not received a demand for money.
Mr. Papadopoulos had been a hardline Greek Cypriot who opposed UN-backed plans to reunify the island.
