Councillor dies after fall
A Green Party councillor has died after falling out of a tree.
Phil Gordon, who was 48, was a member of Leicester City Council.
Councillor Gordon was a professional tree surgeon and was working in the city’s Abbey Park when the accident happened.
He was rushed to hospital but died a short time later.
In a statement the council paid tribute to Councillor Gordon, who was unmarried.
