Cruise passengers to hold Titanic memorial service

Plans have been unveiled to hold a memorial service above the wreck of the Titanic to mark the 100th. anniversary of the sinking of the Belfast-built ship.

The Service will take place on board the cruise ship Balmoral in April 2012.

The ship will be following the original itinerary of RMS Titanic which sank with the loss of over 1,500 lives after striking an iceberg.

The memorial service will be timed to take place at the time when the Titanic sank.

Following the memorial service the Balmoral will then sail to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where many of those people who perished on the Titanic are buried.
