Hundreds of mourners have attended the funeral of Hywel Teifi Edwards the father of BBC newsreader Huw Edwards.
Hywel Teifi Edwards, who was 75, was Professor of Welsh at Swansea University and was a well known campaigner for the Welsh language.
Mr. Edwards was an active member of the Welsh political party Plaid Cymru and had twice stood unsuccessfully for the party at General Elections. He represented the party on Dyfed County Council for 14 years.
The funeral took place in his home village of Aberarth in Ceredigion. The Service was held in the Chapel beside the house where Mr. Edwards had been born.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
