The funeral has taken place of punk rock impresario Malcolm McLaren after many fans held what his family had called “a minute of mayhem”.
McLaren, who was manager of the Sex Pistols, was buried in Highgate Cemetery in London on Thursday (April 22) after a private service.
Fans lined parts of the route close to the cemetery. Mr. McLaren’s coffin, which had the slogan “Too fast to live, too young to die” emblazoned upon it, was carried on a horse drawn hearse.
Before the funeral the McLaren family had called on people to hold what they called “a minute of mayhem” at midday in celebration of Malcolm’s life.
Fans were asked to put on their favourite records and “and let it rip!”.
The McLaren family have also appealed to fans to make donations to Humanade.
