The BBC has been forced to issue an apology after one of its DJs announced to listeners that the Queen had died.
The presenter, Danny Kelly, who works for BBC WM in the West Midlands made announcement during his show which broadcasts in the Birmingham area.
He apparently played the national anthem while making the announcement which was then corrected on air.
In a statement from the BBC the announcement was described as being “entirely inappropriate” and that the organisaiton had apologised unreservedly.
A spokesman said there was no intention to offend.
