The authorities in Switzerland are trying to establish how hundreds of funeral urns, containing human ashes, ended up in Lake Zurich.
Police divers have so far found around 300 of the urns.
The urns were discovered by chance after divers had launched a search for a piece of equipment which had fallen from their boat.
It is understood all the urns bear the logo of a local crematorium.
Officials are understood to be looking at the activities of local organisation Dignitas which helps people take their own lives.
No one from the organisation has commented on the discovery of the urns.
It has been reported that two Dignitas employees were caught dumping ashes into the lake two years’ ago.
