Teenager records moving tribute to mum

A song recorded by a teenager in memory of her mother is helping raise thousands of pounds for cancer research.

16-year-old Sarah Philips recorded her version of Paolo Nutini’s Autumn in her bedroom just hours before her mother Debbie died in February.

The moving tribute was then played at the funeral before the recording was uploaded to YouTube. Within days it had attracted over 200 thousand hits on the site.

Sarah has now released the song as a single with all proceeds going the Debbie Phillips Cervical Cancer Research Fund. The recording is available on iTunes and has already raised over £67,000.

You can view the moving tribute on YouTube.

To download the song, go to iTunes.

Donations can be made to the Debbie Phillips Cervical Cancer Research Fund.
