The actor Ian Carmichael has died aged 89.
The veteran actor passed away at his home in England. He had taken ill over Christmas.
Carmichael starred in a number of British comedy films from the 1950s and 1960s including I'm All Right Jack.
For many television viewers of a certain age he will be remembered as Bertie Wooster from the BBC series.
He was appointed an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in 2003.
Mr. Carmichael is survived by his second wife, Kate Fenton, (his first wife died in 1983), and two daughters.
