Two women have been questioned by police after an apparent attempt to take the body of an elderly relative onto a plane.
The incident happened at Liverpool airport on Saturday.
Staff became suspicious after the two women arrived at a check-in desk with an elderly man in a wheel chair.
They were attempting to check-in for a flight to Berlin.
It was then discovered that the elderly men, who was a German national aged 91, was dead.
Greater Manchester Police are carrying out the investigation after it emerged the man may have died the previous day in the Oldham area of the city.
The women, who are aged 66 and 41, have been released on police bail on suspicion of failing to give notification of a death.
