Life Story for James Mullan

Sadly the death has occurred of James Mullen (Jimmy) who was from the Grange, Loughgall, where spent his early years.

He was the son of Thomas John Mullen and Frances Leckey who had three sons and three daughters.

The family is very well known across a wide area of Armagh and has always been highly respected.

Jimmy, like all his brothers and sisters, received his early education as a pupil of the Grange School, where he enjoyed many happy years.

After finishing school Jimmy emigrated to Canada where he worked in the electricity and postal services.

However, during a visit home to his parents Jimmy was persuaded to remain in Northern Ireland. It was during this period that he married Thelma.

Jimmy took up a managerial position with a Manchester-based company  which supplied cash registers. He was eventually appointed the Northern Ireland representative for the company – a position he was to hold until retirement.

Upon retirement Jimmy moved to Russwood Park in Portadown. It was during these years that he took up wood turning as a hobby. It was an interest which provided him with great enjoyment and one that he became very skilled at.
