Della, as she was known to us, was such a wonderfully kind woman. She loved her family and friends, loved entertaining and was the life and soul of the party. People liked to be around her. She was great fun! I remember as a small child, when we were visiting her, and I had my eye on a piece more of the great sponge cake she had baked, and my dad was ready to go, she ran inside and wrapped up the whole cake and presented me with it! I have not forgotten that all these years. Rest well, Della.
