Mum was the one who told me to "stand up straight and speak distinctly". Who gave me a wack when I needed it, who held me when I was ill, who taught me right from wrong, who helped me stay on the good path. Who asked many times 'who are you?' when we visited home a few years ago. I owe my life to mum, may she rest in peace after a rocky road in her later years. Mervyn.
