KATY would have been just 25 at the end of this month. Her life was short in the overall scheme of things, but despite this she has left behind enough beautiful memories to sustain the rest of us for a lifetime.
She was a beautiful, intelligent, funny, and fun-loving young lady.
As a family we count ourselves blessed to have had her with us for the time we had.
Katy could, at times, be a little shy but she possessed a steely inner core of determination to succeed at whatever task she set herself.
Second best was never acceptable to Katy.
Throughout her schooldays and her time at university, she studied hard and was suitably proud, as we all were, of her many achievements.
She enjoyed life and had some tremendous friends. One only has to read some of the warm messages left by many of her friends on the social networking sites to appreciate how much she was loved by those close to her.
She adored fashion and shopping — indeed, don’t be surprised if some fashion retailers announce a major drop in business in coming weeks!
The bravery she showed throughout her illness was an inspiration to us all. She never complained and rarely lost her ability to smile.
One of her pet names was Princess Katykins. We will miss our Princess so much but take comfort from the fact that she will live forever in our hearts.
