Death Notice for John Shaw Brown
John Shaw Brown, late of Gosforth, Cumbria, born at Rathmoyle, Helen’s Bay, passed away on July 1 after a short illness and in his 100th. year. At one time director of John S. Brown & Sons Ltd. (linen manufacturers), David Allen & Sons Ltd. and Mills & Allen Ltd. (outdoor advertising contractors). Keen fly fisherman and long-standing member of Royal Ulster Yacht Club. Husband of the late Boe and beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Cremation will take place on Monday (July 16) at 2 p.m. at Distington Hall Crematorium, Cumbria (for directions, see right). A Service of Thanksgiving will follow at 3 o’clock in St. Mary’s Church, Gosforth, Cumbria (for directions, see right). Family flowers only please.
