His Eminence, Cardinal Cahal B. Daly, Archbishop Emeritus of Armagh and formerly Bishop of Down and Connor and Ardagh and Clonmacnois, passed away on December 31. Deeply regretted by his brother Patrick, sister Rosaleen, sisters-in-law Barbara and Mavis, nephews, nieces and the whole family circle, by Cardinal Seán Brady, Bishops Clifford, Treanor, O’Reilly , Walsh, Farquhar, McKeown and the priests, people and religious of the Archdiocese of Armagh and the Dioceses of Down and Connor and Ardagh and Clonmacnois. May he Rest In Peace. His remains will arrive at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Belfast, on Saturday (January 2) at 12 noon for Mass for the Dead. The remains will lie in state until 9 p.m. on Saturday and again from 9 a.m. on Sunday.  Liturgy of the Word and the removal of the remains to Armagh will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday. The funeral cortege will arrive at Lower English Street in Armagh at 5 p.m. Mass will take place at 5.30 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The remains will then lie in state until 10 o’clock on Sunday evening and between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Monday (January 4), with the Office for the Dead taking place at 6 p.m. Requiem Mass will take place at mid-day on Tuesday, followed by burial in the grounds of the Cathedral.
